  Born Michael Joseph Jackson on the 29th August 1958 in Gary,, Jackson has been a performer for almost his entire life. He was a founder member of the family group The Jackson 5 at the tender age of four years old, soon becoming the lead singer and frontman. On-stage he modelled his dance moves and vocal style to that of his hero James Brown. Groomed and nurtured by Motown for stardom it was always going to be cute little Michael who was going on to become the big name in the group. Millions of fans all over the world had their favourite but it was Michael who,"Got To Be There" bore the same tittle as his debut solo album and was the first in a run of million sellers. "Rockin´Robin",  Michael was determined to stand out from the crowd. A total of four studio albums and a best of compilation were released before Michael joined his brothers and headed for pastures new. When the band left the label they were forced to leave their name behind and so became The Jacksons. Michael teamed up with Quincy Jones for the legendary "Off The Wall" album. This new career was to be a whole new ballgame and his total domination of the pop world became a reality. The rest as they said is "History"- the phenomenon Michael Jackson.
